Clifford, Leo Duane was granted his angel wings on March 26, 2017. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Leo had touched in profound ways throughout his 91 years of life. A memorial service is being held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Washburn McReavy Strobeck Johnson Chapel. Visitation will occur at 2pm followed by a memorial service at 3pm. Leo was born on February 7, 1946 in Glasford, Illinois to John Clifford and Flora (Richardson) Clifford. Leo is survived by his son, Richard (Dick) Clifford and granddaughter, Jessie (Clifford) Novey. He served our country in the Army during WWII and was a man of many talents. He was an engineer and an entrepreneur who owned three businesses, Computer Metal Products, Minnetonka Engineering and Mechanical Design and Manufacturing. One of his favorite stories he enjoyed telling was that he built many of the first products for Tonka Toys, something he was incredibly proud of. He had a deep love for sales, developing and designing products and/or improving upon his existing products and patents. Running his own business and working with customers never felt like a job for him because he enjoyed it so much, it was his true calling and passion. He worked every day, right up until his health would no longer allow him to do so. He loved flying his airplane and whenever possible he would take family, friends and customers for rides. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, downhill skiing, telling stories, meeting new people, crafting the perfect cocktail and making people laugh. Leo loved entertaining friends and family and he was always quick to make strangers feel right at home in his presence. He was a tremendous father, grandfather and loved his family deeply. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for the people in his life. His generous soul, contagious smile and soft, warm heart will forever be missed, yet never forgotten. He was a man who broke the mold. Condolences may be sent to 10454 Covington Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55347. Washburn-McReavy.com Strobeck Johnson 952-938-9020 1400 Mainstreet, Hopkins
