Mel Vogel

Vogel, Mel Age 76, died peacefully on March 20, 2017 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. Born Melvin Otto Vogel in Minneapolis, MN on May 17, 1940, Mel was a successful financial advisor, beloved friend, husband, father, and frequent teller of dad jokes. He often returned to Minnesota for the State Fair. He is survived by wife Linda; three children Andrew Vogel (and partner Eve Sheffield), Matthew Vogel, and Melinda Vogel (and husband Jeremy Meckler); his brother Norman (and partner Ellen Lemke) and Norman's four children and many grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara and directed to the Mel Vogel Memorial Scholarship Fund. We will miss his humor, his wisdom, and his charm. Services were held in Santa Barbara, CA on March 24th.
