Nolan, Denis D. Age 71 of Coon Rapids, died 3-25-17 of complications from Alzheimers. Born 10-31-45 to Genevieve and John in Washington, DC. Anoka High School graduate. Proud United States Marine Corps Sgt; Vietnam veteran 1964-68. U of M Wildlife Mgmt graduate. 30 year Hennepin county employee. Preceded in death by parents and brother Bill. Survived by: Janet Grieder with whom he shared love and life for 24 years; sister Dana (Dwight) Spiering, sister-in-law April Hegge Nolan, nieces, nephews, best friend Bruce Fuller, hunting, fishing and work friends. Happiest outdoors or studying nature, he and Bruce shared countless hours and seasons of "woods time" (no deer, antelope, turkey or fish was safe!) many of which Denis filmed for posterity. He loved westerns, folk music, good food, hot discussions with the Mavens, golfing with Jim, and hearing Kellie play the sax. His deep, wonderful laugh and smile will be sorely missed. Service March 31, 1:00 PM at Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 N. Hamline, Roseville. Visitation 1 hour prior. Memorials preferred to The Food Group foodshelf. "I'm not going to die, honey. I'm going home like a shooting star." Sojourner Truth. Roseville Memorial Chapel 651-631-2727
