Medenwaldt, Harvey D. age 68, of Big Lake, formerly from Maple Grove and Hankin-son, ND. Born 12/5/1948 in Breckinridge, Mn to Arthur and Beatrice (Rich) Medenwaldt. His father died when he was six years old. He was raised with his sister Janice by his mother in Hankinson, ND. He also lived a couple of years out on the Medenwaldt farm in Hankinson with his grandparents and uncles. He graduated from Hankinson high school in 1966. After high school he moved to the Twin Cities at 17 years old to find work. He was drafted into the army in 1968 and was sent to Vietnam. At the time of his discharge from the army he was a Sargent. He was awarded the Bronze star Medal, Army Commendation medal with "V" device, Vietnam Campaign medal with 60 device, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and others. He returned to the Twin Cities and worked in roofing manufacturing for almost 30 years until he retired for medical reasons. He endured many years with heart and lung disease until Jesus called him home on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Amy VonDeLinde (Mike), Kari Baker, Carrie Miller (Jason), and Connie Smith (Michael); grandchildren Ben, Megan, Carson, Josie, Avery, Eli, Charles, James, Bryce, Sophia, Paxton, and Lily; and sister, Janice Emde (Harry). Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Beatrice Medenwadt; and infant brother, Harlan. Service 11 AM Wednesday, March 29, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center.
