Denny, William F. age 88, of Bloomington, formerly of Minnetonka and Edina. Bill was born on April 15, 1928 in Minneapolis to William M. and Pearl (Kinney) Denny. As a proud Irishman, it seems fitting that Bill passed away on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2017, in Bloomington, MN. Bill spent most of his growing up years in Orono, MN and graduated from Wayzata High School. In 1951, Bill married Mona Steffes and they raised their 4 children in Minnetonka. Eventually Bill and Mona parted ways, but remained close friends throughout his life. In his later years, Bill was fortunate to meet Donna Entrikin, who provided several more years of companionship to him, until her death in 2013. Bill was the owner of W. F. Denny & Company, an accounting firm in Excelsior. A celebrated achievement came in 1980 when Gov. Al Quie appointed Bill to the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy. Bill was a long-time member of the Excelsior Rotary Club. Although Bill was physically disabled from an accident in his teens, this never stopped him from doing the things he enjoyed, including golfing (from a golf cart), hunting (from his "amphicat"), and flying planes. Bill touched many people with his quick wit and humor and he will be greatly missed. Bill is survived by his children; Michael Denny, David (Jae Briggs) Denny, Sheila (Jim Andrews) Denny-Andrews, Robert (Misty Williams) Denny, grandchildren; Jessica Denny, Meghan (Zach) Pate, Ryan (Tanya) Denny, Danielle (Shaun) Bopp, Nathan (Amanda) Denny, Eric (Jenn) Andrews, Peter Andrews, Matthew Andrews, Brianna (Cody) Fief, Mikhaela Denny, 11 Great Grandchildren, friend and former wife, Mona Denny, brother Curt (Margie) Denny and his nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mark, daughter-in-law Karen (Rishavy) Denny and friend Donna Entrikin. The family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at the Minnesota Masonic Home who provided Bill with great care and respect the last three years of his life. Services have been held. If so desired, memorials may be made to Minnesota Masonic Home Care Center, For the benefit of second floor in D Building, 11501 Masonic Home Drive, Bloomington, MN 55437-3699. Cards may be sent to Mike Denny, 15705 24th Ave. N., Unit C, Plymouth, MN 55447. May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. an Irish blessing.
