Butler, Sandra (Kamman) Age 83, of St. Paul. Entered eternal rest on March 10, 2017. Reunited with her parents Kenneth and Eileen (Keough) Kamman. Survived by husband of 58 years, Peter; siblings Suzanne (Robert) Flotten and James (Elizabeth) Kamman; children John (Sara Rottunda), Suzanne (favorite son-in-law Andrew) LeFevour, Paul (Barbara Thrasher), and Peter; grandchildren Bridget (Patrick), Elise, Andrew, Madeline, Kathleen, Mary Clare, Emmett, Cassidy and Jediah; brother-in-law Patrick, Jr. (Patricia); and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Kate Butler Peterson and Patricia Ryan Kamman, brothers-in-law, Robert Flotten and Hall Peterson, and nephews, Patrick Butler III and Jude Peterson. Sandy was a life-long St. Paulite and proud Visitation High School and St. Kate's graduate. She devoted her life to helping others, serving tirelessly as a board member, volunteer, and fundraiser for the arts, higher education, human services, women's advocacy, and the environment. Sandy became the Minneapolis Institute of Art's first chairwoman and a lifetime trustee; the College of St. Catherine's first chairwoman; and campaign co-chair with Mary Lee Dayton for the Minnesota Women's Fund. Sandy enjoyed vacationing with family and friends on the North Shore and Sanibel Island and was active in those communities, too. Her grandchildren hold many fun memories of "GrandmaSota" and are thankful for her example of a strong faith and concern for others. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at OUR LADY OF VICTORY CHAPEL at The College of St. Catherine (2004 Randolph Av at Cleveland Ave., St. Paul) with visitation from 10 AM until time of Mass. Private inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Catherine University, Visitation High School (Patty Ryan Kamman Fund) or the Minneapolis Institute of Art in lieu of flowers.
