Donald 'Don' Egan

Egan, Donald, "Don" age 83, of Savage died February 25, 2017 at home surrounded by loving family. Born July 3, 1933 Don lived his entire life in Savage except for two years in the service as an MP. He and his wife, Mary, have been married 59 years. Member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local #49 and Knights of Columbus. He was Mayor of Savage 1988-1995. Preceded in death by parents, John and Lena; brothers, Jack and Russ; beloved son, Joe. Survived by wife Mary (Shea); children, Mary "Bee", Donald (Debra), Tom (Donna), Peter, Regina (Dan) Myer; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julie (Wally) Bunnell, Luella Hennen, Mildred (Jerry) Boerner, Pat (Ken) Miller. Visitation Thursday from 4-8 PM (with KC Rosary at 7:30 PM), and Friday from 10-10:45 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial Friday 11 AM, all at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 W. 125th St., Savage. Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Burnsville. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. John the Baptist Church.
