Gertrude 'Gertie' Dumont

Dumont, Gertrude "Gertie" of Rogers, and formerly of Crystal, passed away peacefully at her home, on February 22, 2017, at the age of 96. Gertie enjoyed spending time with her family above all. She was born in Norway, and proud of her Norwegian heritage. She loved to sew, and made many quilts for her family. She also liked to bake traditional treats for family gatherings. She was preceded in death by husbands, Lawrence W. Christensen and George H. Dumont II; daughter, Kathleen Sowers; sisters, Ann Baird and Marion Fuchs. She is loved and survived by children, Robert L. (Linda) Christensen, Roger A. (Kristine) Christensen, Claudia L. (Gary) Nelson, Bruce L. (Donna) Christensen, Renee S. (John) Dittrich, George H. (Jean) Dumont III; son-in-law, Edward Sowers; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends, here and in Norway. Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Thursday, March 2, at Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church, 5530 42nd Ave. N., Robbinsdale. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at church.
