Betty and Calvin Wall

Wall, Betty Jane (Nickander) and Wall, Calvin Edward Betty - April 30, 1925 - Feb. 23, 2017 Calvin - Sept. 25, 1925 - Feb. 23, 2017 Both age 91, of Mounds View. Betty passed away 10 hours before her husband of 71 years, Calvin Wall. Betty was Founder Unity Hospital, North Suburban Hospital District CEO for 43 years. Calvin was a retired 43 year employee of Langford Electric Co. and a 70-year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Cal was a master electrician/foreman. Betty and Cal were high school sweethearts, both graduating in the class of 1943 at Aitkin High School, Aitkin, MN, and were married in a double wedding with Betty's identical twin, Lois (Willard) Hagman on May 26, 1945 at Kimberly. They had a vacation home in Aitkin County at Kimberly called "Blue Bird Acres." Besides having a 100 year old outhouse with electricity, they loved their summer kitchen with the evening sunsets. Two books were published on their family roots, Betty's was `The Nickander Swanson Story' in English and also published in Swedish and Cal's was `The Book of Walls.' How exciting to see the family histories in print and pictures. They were preceded in death by their daughter, Nancy Fedor, and will be deeply missed by sons, Michael (Cathy), Randy, Kim (Laurie) and their families. Services will be arranged at a later date.
