Valdovinos, Salvador J. Age 91, Richfield, passed away peacefully at home 2/13/2017. Sal served from 1943 to 1946 in the US Army 103rd Infantry, the "Cactus Division", achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and earned a Purple Heart for his service in France. He loved life, spread happiness to all he met, and was a lifelong learner, always willing to offer his advice, assistance and handyman know-how. Preceded in death by second wife Olga Yunis Valdovinos. Survived by first wife Mary Bourne and their children Ramón (Merodie) Valdovinos and Luisa Valdovinos Cannon (Patrick Cannon); stepchildren George (Vilma) Yunis, O.M. Bresnahan, Karl Yunis, Amira Yunis (Dudley Hancox), Omar Yunis (Alex Straight); grandchildren Alissa Valdovinos Stark (Tom Stark), Rita Cannon, Benjamin Cannon, Justin (Kim) Bresnahan, Anthony Stanford, Gabrielle Yunis, Michael Bresnahan, Lila Yunis, Estella and Willa Yunis. Memorial Service on 2/23/2017 at 10:00 AM at First Universalist Church, 3400 Dupont Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55408, reception afterward. Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
