Jeffrey Stewart Kivens

Kivens, Jeffrey Stewart age 74, of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully at home from Alzheimer's disease on Feb. 15, 2017. Proud owner of Minneapolis Granite & Marble Co. for over 30 years. Loved his family, classic cars, family genealogy, schmoozing, Florida, and singing with his beautiful, booming bass voice. Preceded in death by parents, Nathan & Helen Kivens; brother, Larry Kivens; father-in-law, Charles (Shy) Winthrop; mother-in-law, Reva Winthrop; brother-in-law, Joel Simes. Beloved husband of Sharon Kivens; loving father to daughters, Dr. Wendy Kivens (Dr. Alexei Sacks), Marlee Kivens; beloved grandfather of Eitan and Nava Sacks; loving brother-in-law of Roberta Simes, Sonie & Steve Winthrop. Survived by special nieces and nephews, Laurie & Jeremy Passer, Eddie & Rachel Winthrop, Michael and Audrey Simes; and many other cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Our family gives special thanks to Synergy HomeCare and Open Circle Adult Day Care Center for helping to make Jeff's last four years joyful, fulfilling and engaging. Memorials preferred to Open Circle, 34 10th Ave. S., Hopkins, MN 55343 or to donor's favorite charity. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 17 at 2 pm at Adath Jeshurun Congregation, 10500 Hillside Lane West, Minnetonka.
