Bishop, Martha Krause of Deephaven died quietly and peacefully on February 8, 2017. Martha was born in NECHE, ND; the seventh of eight children. She graduated from Mayville State University and began a career in teaching on the ND prairie. After WWII, she married her brother's Navy buddy, Bob Bishop in 1948. They had four children. Martha was a much beloved and gifted 4th grade teacher at St. Therese School in Deephaven for 25 years. She was best known for her generous heart, constant faith, and genuine love of others, especially children. She made her family, friends and students feel loved, valued, cherished and honored. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her infant daughter, Judith. She will be greatly missed by her children, Steve (Judy) Bishop, Marthy (Ron) Smoliak, and Carol Bishop (Bob Kuhn) and grandchildren, Brian, Kevan and Jason Smoliak, Jessica (Fred) Sutherland, and Jonathan Bishop as well as her nieces, nephews, and brother-in-law, Wes Bishop. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd, Deephaven. Visitation from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Martha Bishop Science Center at St. Therese School or VitreoRetinal Surgery Foundation.
