Urevig, Glenn Elwyn age 78, of Edina, MN, formerly of Wallace, SD, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Burnsville, MN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Wallace. Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Interment will be in the Telemarken Cemetery, Wallace, SD. Glenn Elwyn Urevig was born on February 4, 1938 to Glenn and Anna (Brekke) Urevig in Bradley, South Dakota. He grew up on a farm near Wallace and graduated from Wallace High School. He then went to SDSU in Brookings where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Mechanic Arts and later received his Masters of Science degree. Glenn joined in the United States Navy and served from 1962-1966. At the time of his discharge he was a Lieutenant. Glenn was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. He loved the arts and enjoyed going to plays, concerts and museums. He also loved walking and staying active and youthful. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Gopher fan. Glenn especially enjoyed going to dinner with friends. Glenn is survived by his nieces and nephews; his group of treasured friends; and his special lady friend, Tyra. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, LaVonne Faehn, Avonelle Kahnke and Phyllis Keszler. Arrangements by Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel wightandcomes.com.
