Marolt, Joseph M. Age 96 of Brainerd, died peacefully on January 15, 2017 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo. He was born March 26, 1920 in Elcor, MN, son of Rudolph and Marija (Tauzelj) Marolt, immigrants of Slovenia. Preceded in death by his loving wife Marion Elizabeth Davies; brothers and sisters Rudolph, Mayme, Matilda, Frank, Albert, and Edward. Survived by sons Joseph A. (Karen), Michael J. (Linda), and John J. (Jackie); 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Joe graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1938 and was a WWII Army veteran serving in the European Campaign (Battle of the Bulge). Joe married his high school sweetheart, Marion Davies. They raised their family in Brainerd where Joe worked at Potlatch Corp and retired after 28 years of service. Joe will be remembered as a quiet, honorable man who served his country and family well. Funeral 11 am Friday, January 20, 2017 at Gearty- Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, Plymouth, MN 55446. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Private burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
