Rosenthal, Abraham age 88, of St. Paul, passed away Jan. 14. He is remembered as a loving father and grandfather by his surviving children, Steven (Jean Marie), Jeffrey, Julie (Steve); grand-children, Matthew, David, James, Benjamin, Daniel (Masha), Josh (Sara Rina), Randi (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Samira, Austin and Nash; sister, Betty; brothers, Morris and Isadore. Abe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose of 39 years; beloved daughter, Laurie Sue; parents, James and Etta; brothers, Sam and Max. Abe graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul, and forged his birth certificate to enlist in the Marine Corps. He was critically injured while serving as a Marine in World War II on Iwo Jima. After recovering, he returned to the US where he graduated from the Univ. of MN then attended Law School at the Univ. of MN. Abe was an insurance agent, an inspector with the Dept. of Agriculture, and President/CEO Minnesota Transport Services Assn, advising and lobbying for the transportation industry. Abe stayed active in politics, championed Senior and Veteran causes, was a Commander in the National Jewish War Veterans, and had a love of learning. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
