Bailey, Dorothy Ann Nikolai Died December 8,2016 at N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, MN. Dorothy was born November 19, 1925 in Madison, MN to Leo and Anna (Peterson) Nikolai. She attended St Olaf College in Northfield, MN where she met and later married the love of her life, Kenneth Clinton Bailey. They were married on July 3, 1949 and enjoyed 44 years together before his death in 1993. During their years together, they lived in Forest City, Iowa, Northfield, Moorhead and Edina, MN. The last 30 years Dorothy lived at 7500 York and York Gardens in Edina. Over the course of her life, Dorothy taught business classes in Belle Plaine, MN, worked in the Richfield Bank and Trust in Richfield, MN and was the office manager for the Athletic Department at Edina High School, Edina, MN. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her family, doing crossword puzzles, playing bridge and zioncheck, eating Sunday night dinners of hot chocolate and cinnamon toast and knitting hundreds of hats and mittens for needy children. Most of all, she enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Marie; and her loving husband, Ken. She is survived by her children Linda (Kenneth) Holmen, Anne Bailey, and Leigh (Freda Marver) Bailey; grandchildren, Sarah (Jake) Veldman, Erin Holman and Allison (Tyler) Trimberger; great grandchildren, Connor, Annika, Hannah Veldman and Owen Trimberger. Funeral service Thursday 1:30 PM, Woodlake Lutheran Church, 7525 Oliver Ave S, Richfield, MN with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
