Duquette, Barbara Ann (nee Tunell) age 85, passed away on December 2, 2016 at her home in Inver Grove Heights, MN. She is loved and remembered by her son, David and grandchildren Emily and Andrew of Edina, brother Jack and wife Emie Tunell of Inver Grove Heights, many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends acquired throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark, and grandchildren Caroline and Sam. Barb was born in Pine City, MN on February 17, 1931 to Julia (Glasow) and William Tunell. She participated in band and cheerleading while in school, where she acquired the nickname Bobbi. She graduated from St. Cloud State Teacher's College in 1953 and began a Business Education career at Alexander Ramsey High School. After a hiatus to raise her family in Mendota Heights, MN, Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Anoka, MN, she returned to teaching at Blaine Sr. High and Park Center High. Barb was proud to be a teacher and always thought of herself as one, even when not in the classroom. She loved cats, music, science fiction, talking, and watching figure skating and drum corps. Special thanks to the staff at Inver Glen Senior Living in Inver Grove Heights for exceptional, compassionate care during Barb's final 7 years. Visitation at 6:00PM on Wednesday, December 14 with service to follow at 7:00 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota Edina Chapel, 7110 France Avenue, Edina, MN. Barb's ashes will be buried at a later date in Pine City, MN, where she will finally be home.
