Krastins, Elvira Rasma (Oma) age 96, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2016. Survived by daughters Indra Krastins and Andra Roethler, son-in-law John Rudzitis, and grandchildren, Aleks and Yuling Rudzitis, Nik Rudzitis, Robbie Roethler and Anna Roethler. Elvira was born in Latvia in 1920. She immigrated to the United States in 1950 and proudly became a US citizen 27 years later. However, she never lost her love of her native country. Elvira proudly worked more than 20 years for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis once receiving special honors after walking 4 miles to work in a snowstorm because the city buses could not make it through the deep snow. She helped to raise all of her grandchildren and her hard working and gentle hands will be greatly missed. A service at the Latvian Lutheran Church, Minneapolis to celebrate her life will be held next summer. Memorials preferred to the Latvian Lutheran Church of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
