Smith, Dr. James A. DVM age 90 of Richfield, passed away December 4, 2016. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Joan; children, Jean Smith and Steve (Renae) Smith; grandson, Kyle; brother, Robert (Jackie) Smith; niece, Carole Buller. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Gwendolyn Smith; and siblings, Elizabeth, Dick and JoJo. Dr. Smith is a 1948 graduate of Auburn University. He practiced veterinary medicine for 33 years at Blue Cross Animal Hospital. He is a two time veteran of the US Army. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed. Mass of Christian Burial 12 Noon Friday, December 9 with visitation beginning at 11 AM at the Church of St. Richard, 7540 Penn Ave S, Richfield. Private interment Lakewood Cemetery.
