Johnson, Nancy Joy Age 77 of Remer, MN, born June 9, 1939 in Robbinsdale, MN to Bert and Maxine Houlding and died on Friday, December 2, 2016 surrounded by family. Nancy graduated from Richfield High School and married Dennis Johnson in 1959. They lived in New Hope, MN until 1968, when they moved to Remer. Nancy adopted and raised 10 children, and still found time to devote numerous hours to volunteering in the community, including Remer's ambulance service, church and schools. Nancy loved her home on Upper Trelipe Lake, cooking, sewing and spending time with her large circle of family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, son, Bruce, and brother, Donald Houlding. Survived by five daughters: Brenda (Doug) Dickson of Boy River, MN; Jackie (Richard) Potts of East Bethel, MN; Kirsten (Corinne) Johnson of Chaska, MN; Jennifer (Craig) Jones of Brooklyn Park, MN; Rachel Johnson of Bemidji, MN; and four sons: Bradley Johnson of Remer, MN; Eric Johnson of Zimmerman, MN; Trygve Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; Kelly Johnson of Remer, MN; daughter-in-law, Sue Johnson LaGue of Brooklyn Park, MN; 16 grandchildren (Joshua, Travis, Jessica, Angela, Katie, Cheree, Doug, Aaron, Josette, Nick, Briana, Ricky, Hailee, Savannah, Mattie Jo, and Christa) and 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Colleen Westlin of Crystal, MN; and brother, James Houlding of Bloomington MN. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 1 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 18 Cedar St NW, Remer, MN 56672. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church.
