Schoenecker, Guy age 89, passed away peacefully at home. He had many ailments in recent years but never complained. He would only say how grateful he was for the excellent care he received from the many fine people at Park Nicollet Clinic and Methodist Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife Barb and seven children: Lisa and Rich Anderson, Larry Schoenecker, Paul and Jen Schoenecker, Bob Schoenecker, Sue Schoenecker, Dave and Kim Schoenecker, and Shelley Schoenecker and by 9 grandchildren: Tara Anderson, Marissa Anderson, Danny Schoenecker, Derek Schoenecker, Sam Schoenecker, Katie and David Weeres, Matt McMullen, Morgan Schoenecker, and Murphy Schoenecker. He is survived by his loving sister Donna Krengel and her children and their spouses and families. He is also survived by his dear friends Roger and Elvina Nelson. He was the patriarch of a large and inclusive family. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Lawrence and Fern Schoenecker from Eden Valley, MN. Guy was a husband, father, grandfather, step grandfather, entrepreneur, business owner, CEO, friend, advocate, philanthropist, horseman, hunter, fisherman, gardener, beekeeper and world traveler, to name a few. He was also a devout Catholic and was well known by the local Catholic community for his commitment to his faith and his generosity to Catholic organizations. He was a 1949 graduate of the University of St. Thomas and served on the University's Board of Trustees from 1978 to 2008. He started a business while in school at the University of St. Thomas in the late 1940's selling engagement rings to fellow students. That business led to a jewelry distribution business and furniture stores. The jewelry business became Business Builders, Inc. and later Business Incentives Inc. It is now known as BI WORLDWIDE and has 1500 employees in offices in the US, Canada, the U.K, India, China, Singapore, Australia, Venezuela, Columbia, and Brazil. He was in the office and at his desk the day before he passed. His business earned the Minnesota Quality Award in 1994 and the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 1999. He was inducted into the Minnesota Business Hall of Fame in 2008. Guy Schoenecker lived a large, passionate, and engaged life. Through his business and generosity he touched many thousands of people in positive ways. He cared deeply about our country, his family, the Catholic Church, his company and its employees. He saw positive things everywhere he looked. His glass was always more than half full. He made everyone around him want to be better at everything they do.
