Borchardt, Elmer P. (Steve) Age 91, of Blaine MN crossed over on 11/20/2016 in his home after spending the afternoon with his family. Preceded in death by his wife Dolores, survived by his two sisters, Eldora Spaulding and Betty Michael, six children, Jeffrey, Craig (Donna), Paula (Tom) Boshart, Pamela (Keith) Fencl, Kimberly Gunter, Todd, their families with six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and close personal friends Jerry and Vicky Fondie. Born in Prior Lake, MN on 8/12/1925, he spent the first few months of his life in a dresser drawer as his crib. He grew up on his family's farm, joined the Navy at age 17 and served in WWII on Guam. After the war, he returned home, became an Iron Worker and started a family in South Mpls. In 1972, he moved to Blaine where he became part of the neighborhood and community. Being the craftsman that he was, he enjoyed helping others with their building or remodeling projects. He passed along his love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors to his family and friends, spending many days and weeks on his farm near Eveleth. He was happy there doing what he loved, also sharing stories and experiences, willing to join in on new adventures like dog sledding in January. He was a humble but proud man; proud of where he came from, proud of his Navy service, proud of his life as an Iron worker, proud of his home and farm, but mostly, he was proud of his family. He took the good with the bad, teaching by setting a fine example! Visitation at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH BLAINE CHAPEL (107th Ave. NE & Hwy. 65) Sunday (TODAY) from 4-7 PM. Funeral service Monday at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior also at the funeral home. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. kozlakradulovich.com "A Celebration on Life" 763-783-1100
