Synstelien, Evelyn L. Our Almighty GOD chose to call Evelyn Lillian Larson Synstelien "home" on 10-20-16 in Elk River, MN. She was born March 16, 1920 to Louis and Betsy Larson on a farm near Elbow Lake, MN. Evelyn made the decision to follow JESUS at the age of 13. After graduating from high school, she obtained her Teaching Certificate from Moorhead State College where she met her future husband, Norman Ingmar Synstelien. Evelyn and Norman were married on May 5th, 1945. Evelyn was a schoolteacher for 5 years, and a school secretary for Cambridge Public Schools for 11 years. Together Norman and Evelyn raised four children; Wanda (John) Fogde (Estherville, IA), Donovan (Shari) Synstelien (Rapid City, SD), Dianne (Steve) Henrikson (Sequim, WA), and MariAnne (Michael) Medin (Elk River, MN). Norman passed away in 1992 and Evelyn moved to Elk River, MN in 2005. She lived out her faith through active church life, and as a mighty prayer warrior. The funeral is Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, 11 AM at Central Lutheran Church (1103 School Street NW, Elk River, MN 55330): Visitation is @ 10:00 AM and Luncheon @ 12:00 PM.
