Guenter 'Ben' Benninghoff

Benninghoff, Guenter "Ben" 87, Minnetonka, MN. 1929-2016. Ben died at 11pm on 9/27/2016. Born 5/22/1929 in Wuppertal, Germany. He grew up in Nazi Germany, surviving bombings and recruitment into Hitler's Youth. He managed to read Mark Twain while his country was burning books, and decided America is where he wanted to live. He learned baking, and came to America in 1952. 8 months after arriving in American, he was drafted into the US Army. After serving, he started a bakery on Long Island. He had 13 stores before he retired to Sun City, AZ in 1979. Ben married Gloria in 1985. They enjoyed a good life of golf, traveling, and dancing. In 2008, they moved to Minnetonka, MN. Ben is survived by his wife, Gloria Benninghoff. He will be missed. There will be no memorial service.
