Brooks, Edith "Edie" (nee Sheimo) Age 90, of St. Louis Park, passed away October, 17, 2016. Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth "Kelly" Brooks; sons, Kenton Brooks, Kevin Brooks; sister, Louise Sandberg. Born in Granite Falls, MN, graduated from St. Olaf College. Edie was a long-time member of Westwood Lutheran Church where she led the women's ministry and was one of the first women on the church council. Edie was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved choral music. She continued her love of the arts through painting. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, Edie will be remembered for her sense of humor and warmth. Survived by daughter, Barbara Brooks; son, Drew (Teresa) Brooks; grandchildren, Clare & Rachel Brooks; sister, Alice Rude and many loving relatives & friends. Memorial Service Monday, October 24 at 2PM with visitation one hour prior at Westwood Lutheran Church, 9001 Cedar Lake Rd, Mpls. Private inurnment at Fort Snelling.
