Dahlberg, Hjordis (Jo) Age 89, died September, 27 at home in Dellwood, MN. Jo is survived by her loving companion of sixteen years, Floyd Svean; children, Greg (Kathy) Dahlberg of Alexandria, VA, Steve (Cathy) Dahlberg of Bellevue, WA, Janet (Dennis) Thiets of Atlanta, GA, Carol Motske of Cedar Rapids, IA; eight grandchildren and one granddaughter-in-law and their families, including six great grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters, Blanche Gravlun of Alexandria, MN and Lorna (Bill) Godfrey of White Bear Lake, MN. Jo was preceded in death by her parents Lars and Mable nee Larson, Underthun; husband, Robert Dahl-berg; brothers, Astor Underthun, Blanchard Underthun; sister Grace Antolick; son-in-law, Mike Motske; and grandchildren, Julia Dahlberg and Erik Dahlberg. Hjordis (Jo) Dahlberg was born in Swift County, MN and was raised in Danvers. She graduated from Benson High School in 1944 and subsequently attended Minneapolis Business College. In Minneapolis, Jo met and married her husband Robert (Bob) Dahlberg. They raised four children in Falcon Heights, MN area until 1963 when they moved to Dellwood, MN. Bob passed away in 1981, and Jo continued to live in Dellwood until she died. Jo lived an extraordinary life. She was a successful real estate agent, travel agent, and Merle Norman business owner. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and North America. She was a great cook and loved to host parties for family and friends. Gardening and bridge were two of her favorite pastimes. Jo was a member at St. Andrews Lutheran Church for over fifty years. Twenty years ago, at age 70, she was a volunteer for the Olympics in Atlanta. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral Service will be Monday, October 3 at 11:30 AM at ST.
