Anderson, Russell J. (Russ) 71, of Edina, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, at Fairview Southdale Hospital with his family at his side. Russ was born May 2, 1945, in Minneapolis to Gladyce and Theodore Anderson. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1963, then joined the Army Reserves. He graduated from Medical Technical School in 1966 and worked in medical sales in Omaha, NE. Following his return to MN, he started a long career with the 7up/Pepsi Bottling Companies of which he held numerous positions and retired after 38 1/2 years of employment. He was a member of the MSRA and Goodguys car clubs. He enjoyed attending classic car shows with his restored '57 Chevy pick-up truck. Known as the neighborhood handyman who could fix anything, he shared his God-Given talents with everyone who needed help. Giving of his time and talents was his Christian calling. Russ was known for his great sense of humor and he truly valued his relationships with his family and friends.Preceded in death by his parents Gladyce and Ted Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Jason and Mark (Jennifer, Billy and Mikayla); brothers, Duane (Judy), Gary (Paulette); several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and so many exceptional friends. Visitation Sunday, October 2nd, 6:00-8:30 pm at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel. Funeral service Monday, October 3rd, 11:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5071 Eden Ave. in Edina, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
