Forsberg, Fred Wyman Age 81, of Spring Lake Park, died on September 26, 2016. Fred was born December 18, 1934 in Sioux City, Iowa. He lived in Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wisconsin as a child and in Minnesota most of his adult life. Fred was a graduate of LeMars Central High School, LeMars, LA and Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, mostly in Weisbaden, Germany. He was employed by Control Data Corporation for 29 years. Fred was a poet, a Minnesota Jaycees Gold Key recipient, and an active member of Fridley United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Marilynn and four sons and four grandchildren: Michael and granddaughters Olivia and Lauren; Scott and wife Donna Glazer and grandson Benjamin; Brian; and Daniel and grandson Sawyer as well as many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton M. Forsberg and Pearl Harrison Forsberg Redding and a young sister, RaeJean Forsberg. A memorial service will be held at Fridley United Methodist Church, 780 Mississippi St. N.E., Fridley MN 55432 on Saturday, October 8 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to Fridley United Methodist Church or to the Panther Foundation (Spring Lake Park Schools), 1415 81st Ave NE, Spring Lake Park, MN 55432.
