Maltese, Theodore Joseph "Ted" age 92 of Mpls, passed away peace- fully Sept. 25. Loving husband, father and friend. Married the love of his life, Jean, in 1955. Ted loved his family, friends, Art, Music, humor, and serving his community. Born N. Bay, Ontario, served in Canadian Navy in WWII. Studied Fine Art at Winnipeg School of Art, came to the US in 1950 where he worked in stained glass and Advertising. In addition to 31 years of Commercial Art with Prudential Insurance, Ted followed his passions of plein air painting in watercolor and oils, sculpture, stained glass and ceramics. A long-time member of the Knights of Columbus men's chorus, MN Artists Association, 3rd Order of St. Francis and the Church of the Incarnation. A generous and active volunteer with Brother DePaul's Mission of Mercy, Special Olympics and Scoutmaster of Boy Scouts. Record breaking sprinter in HS, played tennis to age 87. Ted will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he has touched. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean; children Rosemary, Joseph (Diane), Angela, Michael, Mary Clare (Jorge Granja), Phillip; grandchildren Maxwell, Louis, Chella, Lucia and Lucas; sisters Debbie, Penney, Diane and many nieces and nephews.
