McCarthy, Eugene F. August 8, 1934 September 26, 2016 Gene McCarthy passed away in peace on Sept. 26, 2016, entering his eternal home to be with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. Gene was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, and attended St. Peters High School and New York Maritime College. He met his wife of 58 years, Bernie (Lambert), in Grand Rapids, MN, where he was stationed in the Airforce. He built a successful career at Sperry Univac and Lockheed Martin, earning 5 top sales and 2 presidential awards. More significant, was the love Gene demonstrated to the people God put in his lifehis wife, five children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends. He served his family, children, and community by coaching many little league sports teams, Math Master's academic teams, put his faith into action serving as a Bible Study Fellowship leader, volunteering with Feed My Starving Children, serving in his church, investing in others and much, much more. As his health failed, Gene found great comfort in God's promise: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Cor. 2:9. Gene loved his country, loved his Irish heritage, and loved to sing about both. Gene is remembered for his sense of humor, warm heart, infectious laughter, and endearing smile. We will miss your bright, happy face and your warm and vibrant personality. Until you and I meet againmay God hold you in the palm of his hand.
