Athena Grant

Grant, Athena Age 88 passed away peacefully on September 23, 2016. She was recently living in North Oaks, Minnesota. Athena was married for 62 years to Leonard and was born on March 5, 1928 in New York City as the youngest of four children; she was preceded in death by husband, Leonard and brothers, George, James and Chris. She graduated from Seward Park High School in Manhattan and worked in Manhattan for Columbia Pictures Corporation before becoming a full time homemaker and later returned to the workplace as a daycare provider. She is survived by two children, John L. Grant (Mary Buerkle-Grant) and Michael G. Grant (Joy) and four grandchildren, William, Nicholas, Andrew and Amanda. Athena was a person of high character and faith and was a member of Greek Orthodox congregations in New York, New Jersey and Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1111 Summit Avenue, St. Paul, MN. 55105 on Monday, October 3 at 11AM. Visitation at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, MN beginning at 10 AM Monday.
