Swenson, Thomas R. Born December 6, 1939 to Russ and Alice Swenson. His older sister Mary Eleanor Swenson never let him forget that she was in charge. He lived in Minneapolis and Bloomington while growing up, raised in the LDS church from childhood in one of the pioneer families in Minnesota. His father was an organist, a pianist and scout master and Thom followed that example devoting his time and energy to serving others and making music wherever he could. He married Judy Yund in 1962 and joined the Air Force, ultimately spending 34 years traveling the world to serve his country and raise his family. He was stationed in Tennessee, Okinawa, Kansas, California, Oklahoma, England, Washington State, and New Jersey, retiring back to Minnesota. He and Judy raised 6 children, Tony, Bambi (Catherine), Tomiko, Micha, Kaththea and Marcus, and they are the grandparents of 10 grandchildren. Thom was found to have passed at home September 21, 2016 and he has joined Judy who passed away July 17, 2016. Memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, September 30 at the Church of Latter-day Saints, 3921 Nicollet Ave S, Mpls, with visitation 1 hour prior.
