Westerberg, William D. of Burnsville. Bill peacefully passed away into God's loving arms on Wednesday morning at the age of 88, surrounded by his family. Bill was preceded in death by Marvis, his beloved wife of 62 years; and sister, Mary Ann Fenlason, Edina. Bill is survived by his children: Susan White (with daughter Elizabeth, son Cooper), Sally Westerberg (with partner Brenda), Sarah Allen (husband Chris, daughter Riley, son Cole) and Daniel (wife Paula, son Jonathan), brother Charles and his wife Eleanor Westerberg; and faithful companion Henry, his 18 pound Norwegian Forest Cat. A life long resident of the Twin Cities, Bill was born in Minneapolis at Swedish Hospital, and was a 1946 graduate of St. Louis Park High school. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army Artillery, and in the US Air Force. Bill and Marvis were married in 1950 and in 1963 settled in their Burnsville home of 52 years. Bill was a successful businessman and knowledgable expert in the industrial safety industry. Bill was also an inventor, holding a US Patent on the G-I Glove Inflator, which he manufactured and sold for 40 years. Bill was passionate about traveling, golfing, fishing, boating, RV'ing, and photography, and a well designed Excel spreadsheet. He loved motoring the St Croix on his houseboat and traveling all over the state in his RV with Marvis at his side. Lake Superior and Silver Bay held a special place in his heart as one of his favorite vacation destinations. Services are scheduled for September 26, 2016 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Burnsville. Reviewal at 9:30AM, with Funeral Service at 11AM, followed by a reception at the church. Interment with Honor Guard follows the reception at Acacia Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
