Connelly, Nancy "Lee" Beloved wife of Dale Dockin, age 68, of Bloomington, passed away on Sept. 16, 2016. Lee was a committed public servant during a long career with Hennepin County. She was the first female Hennepin County Detention Sergeant and also the first female Detention Lieutenant. In her retirement, Nancy was able to spend more time gardening, her main passion. She was active in the Richfield Gardening Club and took great pride in award-winning gardens. Dale and Lee moved to Bloomington and the large yard there became her blank slate to fill with color. She loved hosting family meals, playing cards and reading mystery/police novels. Lee is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Rob (Rachel); granddaughters, Madeleine and Evelyn; sister, Peggy; cousins, and many friends and former colleagues. The world will be a less colorful one without her. The family wishes to thank the staff at Methodist Hospital for their kindness and care over the past several years. Flowers are preferred for the visitation to celebrate Lee's life, successes and passion for beauty. For those who would also like to donate to a memorial, the family suggests the American Cancer Society cancer.org. Memorial service Tuesday, Sept. 27, 12 noon, with visitation starting at 10 am at: Washburn-McReavy.com Werness Brothers 952-884-8145 2300 W. Old Shakopee Rd.
