Vesper, Charles Bernhardt age 93, of Bloomington, formerly of Edina, passed away on Sept. 19, 2016. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Marguerite; wife, Jean in 1998; sister & brother-in-law, Elnora and Lyle Farringer; and brother, Edward. Survived by sons, Stephen and Thomas, both of West St. Paul; daughter, Denise (David) Graber of Bemidji, MN; 2 grandchildren, Jason (Holly) Graber of Ft. Gibson, OK and Melissa (Karl) Willers of Pine Island, MN; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Levi; and other family and friends. Chuck served with the Army Air Force during WWII and retired as a Lt. Col. with the Air Force Reserve. He was united in marriage to Jean Hooper on Dec. 26, 1950. Chuck graduated from St. John's University and retired after a long career with Republic Airlines. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, close friend Jan, fishing, hiking and four-wheeling in the Arizona mountains where he spent his winters. Memorials are preferred to Park Nicollet Hospice or the Animal Humane Society. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 23 with visitation one hour prior at the Church of St. Patrick, Valley View at Gleason Road, Edina.
