Johnson, Philip E. On August 30, 2016 Philip E. Johnson took his last curtain call, quickly and in his home in Mpls at the age of 69. Singer, actor, producer, entrepreneur, can all be said of Phil. A gentleman & quick study, he was a friend to all and able to hold his own on any topic, be that physics, philosophy, poetry or show business. He began acting at the Brave New Workshop around 1966. Soon after he had his own television show, 'Fred and Friends', which ran from 1970 to 1973 on WTCN-TV Ch 11 (now KARE), in addition to performing at the former Friars Club in Minneapolis, and several other venues. He and his partner Cliff Walinski quite nicely cobbled together several touring shows in the 80s. Phil never missed an opportunity to travel, France and Costa Rica were his favorite places to visit. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The world is a bit sadder without him. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew, mother, Phyllis, brother, Daniel, and longtime friend and companion, Cliff Walinski. Survived by brothers, Paul, Tim, and Tom, and sister, Jan, many nephews and nieces, and many friends who cherished him. Memorials may be made to the Animal Humane Society of Golden Valley. Funeral services are pending Washburn-McReavy.com Davies Chapel 612-377-2203
