Gmitro, Mark E. 65, of Edina, died accidentally, on August 14, 2016, in Edina, Minnesota, one day before his 66th birthday. Mark was a loving son, brother and uncle. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man, and will truly be missed. Mark was preceded in death by his father Richard John Gmitro. He is survived by his mother Patricia Fiedler; twin brother Michael Gmitro (Cindy Gmitro); sisters Karen Prieto (Pete Smead) and Kathy Masterman (Mike Master-man); nephews Rick, David, Jon, Joseph and Matt; and nieces Michelle and Leyla. Mark attended Edina High School and graduated in 1968. He went on to earn a degree in Chemistry at the University of Minnesota, a Master of Business Administration at the College of St. Thomas, and an Associate of Respiratory Care at St. Catherine's University. He continued on to work at North Memorial Hospital. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, trips to the cabin, and playing several sports including skiing, golf, fishing, and jogging. He took great pride in winning at Fantasy Football and tracking stats for several sports teams. Mark loved his dog Gina, a true companion, always by his side.
