Tillmann, James L. Age 83 of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. "Jim" was born to Anton and Marie (Kuntz) Tillman on September 17, 1932 in Sauk Centre, MN, the third of seven children. He served his country in the US Army from June 1953 to May 1955. Jim lived his faith through prayer and his compassion for others. In the words of his grandchildren "You enjoyed life, wearing joy on your face for all to see. You taught us to love, hug and be the good in the world. And if you're telling a story and you can't remember all the details, it's ok to make some of it up as long as it keeps us laughing. We promise to pick up where you left off." Preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, and sisters Theresa Capouch and Annella Hull. Survived by wife Dolores Tillmann, her two children and one grandchild, sons Stephen (Janeil) & Philip (Kim), daughters Angela (Steve) Carlson, Rebecca (Jim) Running, Monica Willms, Ramona (Chris Wheelock), twenty grandchildren, one great grandchild, brother Joseph (Helen), sisters Rose Amos & Margaret Traver and many nieces and nephews. Gathering Thursday, Sept. 1 from 4-7 PM at Washburn-McReavy Northeast Chapel, 2901 Johnson St NE, Mpls., and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, Sept. 2 at 10:30 AM, at the Church of the Epiphany, 11001 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids.
