Colbert, Robert W. (Bob) Died June 21, 2016 in Minneapolis at age 92 after a full and active life. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Lindberg Colbert (1928 - 1995). He was born in Breckenridge, MN in 1923 to Robert Colbert and Helen Wenner. In WWII he served in the Marine Air Corps flying a Corsair in the Pacific Theater and earning a Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart. After the war Bob attended the University of North Dakota where he met Donna; they married in 1950 and made homes in Madison, Wisconsin, and Edina, Minnesota, before moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1982. He trained as an attorney and worked in the Trust Departments of Northwestern National Bank and Northern Trust. Following retirement, he combined his love of travel and volunteering and went to Crete, Romania, and Peru where he taught English. He also worked with Habitat for Humanity in Belfast, Tanzania, and Tucson and Sun Sounds in Tucson. Bob will be missed for his lively discourse and his fierce loyalty to friends and family. He is survived by his children Jan, Robert (Mary), Brad (Sandy Parnell), Julie, and Alison (Greg Barnhisel) and grandchildren Emily, Jessica, Robert, Madeline, Eleanor, Intira, Jack, and Beckett, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. June Webb-Vignery was a special friend and great companion. Gratitude to Melissa Leslie and all her colleagues at Jones-Harrison Residence. A small family service was held on June 21 and a larger celebration of his life remains in the planning stage.... Memorials to donors' choice or Habitat for Humanity.
