Howell, Joanne D. Age 75, of Maple Grove, passed away on July 5, 2016 due to complications of Alzheimer's. Joanne was born in Crystal Falls, MI, on September 6, 1940, to Herb and Dorothy Johnson. Joanne graduated from Galien High School & Michigan State University. She was a computer lab teacher for many years at Greenwood and Kimberly Lane Elementary Schools. Her joy in life came from her family, reading, her desire to learn, and all creative endeavors. She spent much of her free time painting, sewing, & knitting. Joanne leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Rodney; children, Heidi (George), Alan (Jill), Jill (Jason); and 5 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Aug. 6 at Spirit of Hope UMC in Golden Valley at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
