Perry, Darlene Bonna Born January 12, 1936. Passed away July 26, 2016. Preceded in death by son, Steven H. Perry. Survived by husband, Herbert W. Perry; daughters, Suzanne R. Perry and Shannon (Dennis) Walz and three grandchildren: Shantel, Megan and Brandan. Darlene was a strong advocate for access to health care and other health care issues. She formed Healthcare Advocacy Alliance and was the CEO, putting on informational conferences for numerous years until she retired. In addition, Darlene served on the Title Two Community Aids National Network Board, attending HIV/AIDS conferences both in the U.S. and internationally. She was remembered as working hard and enjoying the International Conference on AIDS in Geneva and Barcelona. As a member of the National Patients Advocacy Foundation, she attended many conferences held in Washington D.C. and received a Governor's Commendation for volunteerism. Darlene loved being outside and working in the yard at her home. She also had a passion for cross stitching, a deep love for her dog Muffy, traveling and attending Nascar and Indy Car races with her daughter, Sue and she had fun times with Lucy and Ethel adventures. Darlene was an amazing woman, wife, mother and friend to many plus much, much more! She will be truly missed. A private Celebration of Life in Darlene's honor will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the family.
