Horning, Norman G. age 88, of Richfield, MN peacefully passed away July 23rd, 2016. Survived by wife of almost 60 years, Marian Horning; daughters Elizabeth Wotrang and Mary (Bob) Shaver, and a son Greg (Angie) Horning; grandchildren Christopher, Jenna, Sam, Jacob, Joshua, Janae, Trae; and many additional beloved family members and friends. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am on Friday, Aug 12th at Saint Peter's Catholic Church, 6730 Nicollet Ave S. in Richfield. Visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Inurnment immediately following Mass at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the inurnment at the Bloomington Knights of Columbus Hall, 1114 American Blvd W. Norm was an avid fisherman, golfer, bowler, and MN Twins fan. Due to our traditionally hot August weather, the family encourages funeral guests to dress comfortably and wear a favorite golf shirt, bowling shirt, fishing shirt, or Twins gear - or even better, your favorite fishing vest! Norm also loved his country, and was a Navy vet; If you have military background, please feel free to wear attire for your branch. Norm would love this approach, and it is the relaxed atmosphere the family wishes to promote at his memorial - encouraging good memories & stories as we honor him.
