Taylor, Mary Sue Age 68, of Mpls., passed away on July 19th, 2016. Mary Sue, also lovingly referred to as "Ms. T." by colleagues and residents at the Hennepin County Home School (CHS), and "Fufu" by her adoring grandchildren, is survived by her parents Russ and June Hanson, brother Tom, sister Amy, daughters Holly and Lindsay, son Michael, and grandchildren Parker (14), Bode (11), Dakota (5) & William (born 7/3/16). A lifelong Mpls. resident, Mary Sue attended Washburn High (where she performed at pep rallies as the "Hairy Fairy"), majored in Art at Gustavus Adolphus College and later attended Mpls. College of Art & Design. Whether designing t-shirts, counseling juveniles, cooking at Cathedral of the Pines, leading Hope Circle, or spending time with her grandchildren, her creativity, quick wit, and strong faith in God were a source of bright light, energy and encouragement to all who knew her. Sober and active in AA for 32 years, she was radiantly spiritual through all walks of life and lifted spirits in every room she entered. If there were a "word find" made in her honor, it would contain the words Strong, Independent, Resourceful, Energetic, Creative, Funny, Beautiful, Quirky, Clever, Graceful, and most of all, Loving. When she wasn't traveling to visit her children and grandchildren in Charlotte, Boston, or NYC, Mary Sue loved to go on adventures, favoring the beaches of Mexico where she could dust off her Spanish skills with the locals, and the Rocky Mountains where she could ski all day and dance all night. Mary Sue lost her life to Ovarian Cancer but inspired those who knew her with the amazing Grace and defiant humor with which she beautifully and courageously lived. She was surrounded by family when she passed away. A Celebration of her life will be held at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church on Monday, August 8th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Angel Foundation, 1155 Centre Pointe Dr., Mendota Heights, MN 55120.
