Vollstedt, Karl at the age of 79, passed peacefully thanks to the medical angels at the Mayo Clinic surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 17th. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his welcoming spirit. He is survived by Lorraine, his loving, supportive wife of 56 years; his children, Kim (Kevin) Webster, Todd, Kris (Rob) Heimerman, Terri (Rod) Pratt, and Lisa (Tom Paulzine) Koats and 6 loving grandchildren, Jeffrey (Laura), Jason (fiancée Becky Brown), Erin, Megan, Cassie, Tyler and great-grandchild, Bryson. He spent 33 years at 3M Company where he was valued for his dedication and willingness to mentor and support his co-workers. In 2003 he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and faced his disease head on by starting the Stillwater Myeloma Support Group which has been the source of support and hope for all involved. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, April 21, 2014, 5:00-8:00 P.M. with a time of sharing at 7:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Co Rd 5), Stillwater. A celebration of Karl's life will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 10:00 A.M. at HOUSE OF HOPE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 797 Summit Avenue, St. Paul. Family will receive friends following the service.
