Schultz, Charles N., Jr. 81, of Coon Rapids, Minn., died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in February. Charles "Chuck" was born to Charles Neilson Schultz Sr. and Mary Steigerwald Schultz in Villa Park, Illinois on November 17, 1932. Chuck left Illinois with his parents and sister in 1949 when his grandparents, William and Myrtle Warren Schultz bought Timberland Resort in Blackduck, MN. The family settled in Blackduck and Chuck attended Blackduck High School where he was a star athlete. It was in Blackduck that Chuck met Shirley Maish and they were married in 1951.Chuck and Shirley moved to Illinois where they raised four children; Charles III, Barbara, William and Carl. A welder by trade Chuck loved to fish, hunt, play cards and bowl. When his father died in 1968 business met pleasure and Chuck became partners with his mother in a bowling alley, King Pin Lanes. Bowling became a family passion and everyone excelled. Later in life Chuck and Shirley moved to Tampa but the lure of fishing and hunting was too strong so they chose to retire where they had started their life together, Minnesota. Chuck is survived by his four children, his sister Carol, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, plus one great grandchild expected soon.
