Berg, Daniel C. Age 61, of Big Lake, died April 14 due to Cholangiocarcinoma. Born June 6, 1952, in Viroqua, Wis. Grew up on a dairy and tobacco farm. Graduated from University of Wisconsin- Madison. Taught physical education for students with special needs for 34 years in Monticello, Minn. Active in school leadership, president and negotiator for Education Minnesota, coached softball and adaptive bowling, led Dads and Me community education classes for 30 years, active on Trinity Lutheran Church council and chaperone for Monticello High School marching band. A lifelong Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan. Preceded in death by father Clayton. Survived by wife Carol, son Andrew, daughter Jennifer, grandson Hudson, mother Jacqueline, sister Julie (Clarence), brother Aaron (Pat), mother-in-law Elinor Heitman, sister-in-law Diane (Gary) Otto, sister-in-law June Markle, eight nephews and one niece. Visitation and prayer service will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 449 W. Broadway St., Monticello. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
