Lawrence 'Larry' King

King, Lawrence "Larry" Larry was an exceptional gentleman and family man with tremendous integrity. He passed away on March 29, 2014 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 62 and died at his home while surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born in Quincy, IL to Len and Toby King. He lived in North Oaks, MN and practiced law in St. Paul, MN for over 35 years. Larry attended the University of Missouri and the Hamline University School of Law. He began his impressive career at Murnane Brandt, going on to become a founding member of two firms, King and Hatch then Larson King. Larry was a member of the Board of Directors of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice exhibiting his loyal support of diversity in the profession, especially encouraging the advancement of women and minorities. He impacted the arts through his work on the Board of Directors of Ordway Center for Performing Arts and the Board of Directors of the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists. When he was not focusing on his career and community involvement, he loved golfing, reading, basketball, and history. With his dry sarcasm and optimistic demeanor, he could find light in every situation. He is preceded in death by his parents. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Susi, who will always remember him as her rock; his children, Mandy (Kelly Kraushaar) King and Tom (Alexis Matter) King, who he coached throughout their lives with calm encouragement and unconditional love; his grandson, Jackson Kraushaar; his sister, Charlotte (John) Berra, whose shared quick wit always left them laughing. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the North Oaks Golf Club, 54 East Oaks Rd., North Oaks, MN 55127.
