Wimsatt, Gretchen Hardenbergh age 70, of Dubuque, IA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She collapsed from a massive stroke while playing tennis, a pastime that she loved, and died peacefully hours later in the loving company of family and friends at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. A memorial visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at Egelhof, Siegert, & Casper Westview Funeral Home & Crematorium, 2659 Kennedy Road, Dubuque, IA. She is survived by her husband, Peter, and her brother, Jon Roger Hardenbergh, both of Dubuque, IA; stepchildren Peter Wimsatt, Jr. (Karen) and Carol Wimsatt of Minneapolis, MN, Dan Wimsatt (special friend Kathy) and Steve Wimsatt (Sandy) of San Diego, CA; step-grandchildren Nicole, Michael, Brooke, Eric and Katie, all of San Diego; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and her adoring dog, Paisley.
