Barthel, Ivan A. Passed away peacefully March 7, 2014. Preceded in death by parents, Leo and Margaret; his first wife, Jean. Survived by wife of 30 years, Lois; children, Michael (Sheila), Gary, Barbara (Mike) Roseth, Paul, Beth (Steven) Ecklund; step-children, Steve (Kathy) Arne, Jeff (Peggy) Arne, Diane (Jeff) Kennedy, Kevin (Karen) Arne, Jill (Dave) Maki; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Francis (Jeanette), Joann (Al) Bodin, Janice Lacher, Marilyn Briggs, David (Lynn); many nieces and nephews. Ivan served in the Marine Corps from 1952 to 1959. He was an entrepreneur and owner of Barthels Rental from 1976 to 2002. He loved to travel and spend time with his family who he raised in the Coon Rapids community of which he was very active in. Visitation Monday, 4-8 PM at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 11 AM at The Church of the Epiphany, 11001 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery.
