Dehnhard, Karl Dietrich "Dieter" Age 82, of St. Anthony, b. April 29, 1934 in Germany to the late Karl and "Änne", died of heart failure May 20, 2016. Preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Hilde; brothers, Martin, Walther and Albrecht. Survived by brother Hans; daughters Bettina Dehnhard (Dean), Susanne Carpenter (Bryan) and Karoline Dehnhard (Larry); granddaughters Nicola Carpenter and Helen Trisko. Dieter received a PhD at U of Marburg, Germany, and immigrated to the U.S. with Hilde and children in 1964. He traveled widely, enjoyed music and nature, and always appreciated a good pun. After retiring from a career in nuclear physics research and teaching at U of MN, Dieter focused on music - playing flute, practicing with friends and hosting and attending house concerts. He will be missed by many, both here and abroad. Memorials to donor's choice. Memorial service Thursday, June 9, 2 PM at Unity Church-Unitarian, 733 Portland Ave, St. Paul, 55104.
